Writing APA-style papers is a tricky business. So to complement my discussion of writing publishable scientific articles , I’ve created an infographic showing some of the major ideas you should consider when writing the introduction to an APA-style research paper . This approach will work well in most social scientific fields, especially Psychology. If you’re writing a short paper, you might only have the first section (the “intro to the intro”) and something like either Subheading 2 or 3. It all depends on the particular research question you’re asking!
I laid them out in an order that I liked, and then moved onto the batting and backing. You want to cut your backing to your final quilt size (give or take for squaring up). For this quilt, I used the whole width of the fabric – so like 44″ and for the length I went about 64″ Then I cut the batting to match. I use a 100% cotton backing because it has a nice tack to it and sticks with the cotton fabric without any shifting. I iron the backing to the fabric with a hot iron to make the two pieces stick better to each other, and to remove any wrinkles. And I’m laughing as I look at this really wrinkly picture! I must have ironed it after this!
Those who submit panels do not have to know the person, but they do have to feel some sort of connection with the individual that they want people to recognize. For example, to memorialize Queen lead-singer Freddie Mercury , there were many panels made, two of which were a solid white background with a blue and black guitar, and "Freddy Mercury" written down the sides in black, with the AIDS ribbon above his name, and a purple silk with "Freddie Mercury," "Queen," and "1946–1991" in silver applique, along with two pictures of Mercury with Queen.
