Cause Essay: This essay explains the different causes and either presents your view or asks the reader to decide at the end. The introduction describes the effects and ends with the question: "What has caused...?" The body paragraphs describe one or more possible causes and the evidence for this. Generally, you will argue strongly for the most important cause in this type of essay. You may argue against some of the other reasonings. The conclusion either restates the cause you think is most important and argues for why the reader should believe it, or it asks the reader to decide.
Questions are fundamental when it comes to presenting the effects. The American Civil War results still have certain effect on the USA’s reality. Even today, it’s quite obvious. It has really changed the face of American society. Both Northern and Southern states still have their own views on the future of America and the role of the American Civil War in the country’s history. Differences in political views are still vivid in the USA, and there is no surprise that this situation is a heritage from the American Civil War. Some issues, however, weren’t solved. One of the examples a student can use is increased crime rates. Slaves that were given their freedom didn’t know what to do with it. They had no money, no master, and no work. Many of them have chosen the criminal path. These effects, as well as many others, changed the American reality forever causing conflicts over political issues even to these days. After reading the cause and effect segment, the reader has to abandon this feeling.
As a result, the government not only lost a great amount of potential tax money from the producers and distributors of alcohol, but also initiated the appearance and rapid development of numerous criminal organizations that received most of their incomes from bootlegging (illegal alcohol trade). As it is clearly seen, this entire situation was quite natural and easy to predict. When something becomes hard to come by, while not ceasing to be a desired commodity, it becomes expensive. When there is a lack of supply for an expensive commodity, however dangerous its production and distribution is, there appear people who want to make money on it, and they won’t disappear until the law that brought them into existence disappears.
